Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson kept his 100th Premier League clean sheet in the 2-0 win over Newcastle at the weekend.

The Brazilian is the third quickest to reach that milestone behind ex-Chelsea and Arsenal number-one Petr Cech and former Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina.

Despite the achievement, Ederson has been criticised by certain sections of the fanbase this season, having disappointed with his shot-stopping in some games.

His distribution with his feet is undoubtedly the best in the business but he has come under scrutiny for failing to impress in other areas. His 63.3% save percentage this season is the third worst in the Premier League, and it has led some to call for Stefan Ortega to be given a chance in the first team.

However, after this latest landmark, Ederson is sure to remain in between the sticks for the foreseeable future. Manager Pep Guardiola has placed great trust in the 29-year-old, who has now been his first choice for five and a half years.
