City Star Recognised For Outstanding August As Premier League Awards Are Announced

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has deservedly won the Premier League’s Official Player of the Month award for August.

The Norwegian international netted nine goals in only five appearances last month, with consecutive hat-tricks coming against Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest.

Haaland has already won over any doubters who questioned whether he could adapt quickly to City and the Premier League, and there is now a strong possibility that he could break goalscoring records during his first season at the Etihad.

In terms of the other awards, Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta was handed the Manager of the Month prize after guiding his team to five victories in five matches, with the Gunners sitting top of the table.

Newcastle United’s pacey winger Allan Saint-Maximin was unsurprisingly given the Goal of the Month award, following his outstanding volley which secured the Magpies a point in the closing minutes of their game against Wolves.
