City Step Up Plans To Sign £72m Rated Senegalese Colossus

Manchester City have made their move for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, according to reports in England.

The Senegalese international, who has been heavily linked with Manchester United and Liverpool, is believed to be keen on a switch to the Etihad Stadium

Koulibaly is expected to leave Italy this summer but Napoli have reportedly been holding out for a fee of around €80m (£72m) for the centre-back. However, it is now believed that the Serie A side will make the 28-year-old available for a reasonable price.

City are said to be very keen to sign at least one centre-half when the transfer window opens, after having failed to replace captain Vincent Kompany last summer.

The long term injury suffered by Aymeric Laporte has also reinforced the need for the Citizens to strengthen their backline, and Koulibaly will certainly be a welcome addition. He is widely regarded as one of the best defenders in the world.
