Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are keeping tabs on AC Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer’s situation, according to reports in the Italian media.
The former Arsenal player is said to be happy to remain at the San Siro but the Rossoneri fear that he could look to leave in the summer when a release clause is activated in his contract.
It is believed that Bennacer’s buyout fee is €50m (£45m) for foreign clubs and that may attract bids from the likes of City, who were interested in signing the Algerian international before the start of the season.
At the moment, it appears Milan’s excellent results on the pitch will persuade him to stay. The Italian club are currently top of the table after seven games played.
Whether they can sustain their push to win their first Serie A title since 2011, we shall have to wait and see, but Bennacer could well be tempted by a move back to England where he would have the chance of winning more trophies on a regular basis.
