City To Finish Top Ahead Of Liverpool, United And Chelsea As Number Crunchers Make Prediction

Manchester City are still on course to win the Premier League despite a disappointing start to the season, according to data analysts FiveThirtyEight.

The number crunchers have calculated that the Citizens will finish on 80 points, three points ahead of Liverpool (77), with United (68) in third and Chelsea (68) behind them in fourth place.

Early season pacesetters Tottenham are predicted to fall to fifth by the end of the campaign, picking up 67 points with Leicester (60) rounding out the top six positions.

In terms of other notable teams, West Ham are expected to finish 10th on 55 points, while surprise strugglers Arsenal (52) will only finish 12th; a position which will certainly not please Gunners supporters.

Neutral’s favourite Leeds are likely to stay up, FiveThirtyEight believe, finishing just behind Arsenal, but the two other teams that were promoted, Fulham and West Brom, are predicted to be relegated along with Sheffield United.

Surprisingly, though, despite picking up just one point from the opening 13 matches, the Blades are expected to end up ahead of the Baggies in 19th.
