City Told To Meet 45M Price Tag As Chelsea And Spurs Join Them in Race For 23 Year Old Defender

Manchester City will have to pay £45m if they want to secure the services of Brighton left-back Marc Cucurella this summer, according to The Sun.

The English tabloid claims that the Citizens will also have to battle two other Premier League clubs for the 23-year-old’s signature.

Chelsea have been mentioned as a potential suitor before but it is believed that Tottenham could enter the running to snap up Cucurella as well, after the Spaniard had an excellent debut campaign in England.

The defender was only signed by the Seagulls from Getafe for £15m back in August and he went on to win the south coast club’s player of the season award.

City need to strengthen their options on the left-hand side of defence. Joao Cancelo has been excellent when asked to play in the position but manager Pep Guardiola will be keen to recruit a player, like Cucurella, who is naturally left-footed.
