Juventus have emerged as favourites for Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt, according to reports in Italy.
Manchester City, Liverpool and Barcelona are also in the race for the 19-year-old but the involvement of agent Mino Raiola could tip things in Juve’s favour.
The Italian-born Dutchman has a good relationship with the Italian champions while he is not on the best of terms with Barca.
City are also said to be considering taking a step back because of Raiola’s involvement in the deal.
De Ligt is one of Europe’s brightest young talents with Ajax expected to demand at least €65m (£57m) for the centre-back in the summer.
The Dutch international has helped his side keep the second best defensive record in the league this campaign, with the Eredivisie club having conceded just 19 in 21 games.
De Ligt has already made 34 appearances in all competitions for Ajax this season and he is captaining the team despite only being a teenager.
