Sky Reporter Reveals That City Have Entered SIX Team Transfer Tussle For £26M Rated World Cup Winner

Manchester City are interested in signing Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard, according to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.

The France international, who won the World Cup in 2018, has been made available for transfer, with Plettenberg claiming that Bayern are willing to sell the 27-year-old for around €30m (£26m) to €40m (£34m):

Pavard only has a year left on his contract with the Bundesliga champions and, with the player keen on leaving the Allianz Arena, it seems almost certain that he will be moving clubs this summer.

City will have competition for Pavard’s signature

Plettenberg also mentions that Manchester United, Liverpool, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Inter Milan are interested in signing the Frenchman so it’s likely to be a six-team battle for his signature.

Pavard can play both as a right-back and centre-back so he would be someone who could easily fit into City’s three-at-the-back system.

With Kyle Walker having been tipped to leave the Etihad too, Pavard may very well be the England international’s replacement.
