Manchester City have scouted Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni this season, along with Manchester United and Liverpool, according to ESPN.

The website reports that the three clubs are keen on signing the 21-year-old, who impressed whilst playing for France in the UEFA Nations League final against Spain.

It is also believed that Chelsea have a long-standing interest in Tchouameni and they may have an advantage as they have close connections with his agent Jonathan Kebe.

Monaco will be the ones who will make the final deciion on the player’s future, though. The Ligue One side are bracing themselves for bids but they are not prepared to let him go on the cheap.

A bid between €50m (£42.3m) and €60m (£50.7m) could well be needed to secure Tchouameni’s signature. City may be open to spending such a sum if they decide that the Frenchman is the best candidate to replace the ageing Fernandinho.
