City Weigh Up January Deals For Arsenal Target And Former United Defender

Manchester City have added two Leicester players to their list of centre-back targets for the January transfer window, according to Sky Sports News.

The TV station reports that the Citizens are considering a move for former Manchester United player Jonny Evans to strengthen their defensive options.

They are also looking at his teammate Caglar Soyuncu, who has been impressive since replacing Harry Maguire in Brendan Rodgers’ side.

The Turkish international is also reportedly being tracked by Arsenal, with the 23-year-old having impressed observers with his performances in a defence which is currently the best in the Premier League.

Leicester have only conceded eight goals in 12 games so far, with Soyuncu and Evans having started every single league match alongside each other this campaign.

City, in contrast, have had difficulties in finding a consistent centre-back pairing with injuries to both Aymeric Laporte and John Stones forcing manager Pep Guardiola into selecting the likes of Fernandinho and Rodri in defence.
