Club President Speaks Out Amid Reports That City Have Tabled 68M Bid For Kane Alternative

Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso has stated that the Serie A side have still not received the “right offer” to sell striker Dusan Vlahovic.

Reports in Italy this morning have claimed that Manchester City had offered €80m (£68m) for the Serbian international but Commisso insists the player is unlikely to leave the Viola this summer:

“Vlahovic has never been put up for sale by Fiorentina, even if everything is happening around him with agents and the clubs that want to do deals in the final stages of the transfer session. It’s, therefore, true that there is news ‘about’ Vlahovic, but the right offer has never arrived. And even if it did arrive, I don’t think he will leave this season.”

Vlahovic is said to be City’s main alternative to Tottenham’s Harry Kane, with a deal for the England captain looking increasingly unlikely as Spurs chairman Daniel Levy digs his heels in over the forward’s asking price.

There are reports suggesting that the Citizens are prepared to pay around £125m for the player, but it still falls short of Levy’s valuation.

In terms of Vlahovic, there are other teams interested, with the 21-year-old having been linked with Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and Spurs over the past couple of weeks, but Commisso also seems determined to keep his player
