Haaland

With Erling Haaland having started the season like a house on fire at Manchester City, his £52m fee now looks like a bargain. The Premier League champions were also involved late on deadline day with Manuel Akanji a surprise signing from Borussia Dortmund.

In addition to the club record signing of Darwin Nunez, Liverpool were also forced into making a late addition due to an injury crisis in midfield, loaning Arthur from Juventus. Manchester United spent very heavily to snap up two Brazilians in Antony and Casemiro, while Newcastle paid a sizeable fee for a new number nine – Swedish international Alexander Isak.
