Newcastle were rather cautious with their January recruitment but they did secure the high-profile signature of Everton’s Anthony Gordon for £45m. Manchester City decided against making any significant moves, signing youngster Maximo Perrone from Argentinian side Velez Sarsfield.
Manchester United made the late decision to recruit Marcel Sabitzer from Bayern Munich on loan, following an injury to playmaker Christian Eriksen, but Liverpool surprisingly didn’t add to their early window addition of Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven.
