“Could Be Set For A Move There” Hoddle Tips City To Land 62M Rated Brazilian Ahead Of PL Rivals

Former Chelsea and England manager Glenn Hoddle believes Leeds winger Raphinha could end up joining Manchester City this summer.

The Brazilian is reportedly being pursued by the likes of Barcelona, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea, but Hoddle thinks the Citizens’ style of play would suit the 25-year-old:

“Most definitely [Raphinha will leave]. Maybe Manchester City have that style of play and he could be set for a move there. I think he’s excellent.”

Hoddle makes an interesting point. It has been suggested in recent days that Riyad Mahrez will be allowed to leave the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season.

The Algerian international is closing in on the final year of his contract at City and he has yet to agree a new deal.

Considering Raphinha is left-footed and prefers playing off the right-wing, he appears to be the perfect replacement for Mahrez if the City star were to be moved on.

A number of reports have claimed that Raphinha has a €75m (£62m) release fee and, considering City have taken advantage of such buyout clauses in the past, it does seem as though Hoddle is on to something.
