Crystal Palace V Manchester City – Match Preview And Predicted XI Plus Betting Odds

Following a setback against Tottenham in the Champions League midweek, City will want to refocus their efforts on reclaiming top spot in the Premier League this weekend.

It may only be for a couple of hours but a win against Crystal Palace on Sunday will put pressure on Liverpool when they play Chelsea later in the day.

Manager Pep Guardiola will be sweating over the fitness of Bernardo Silva for the game at Selhurst Park. The Portuguese playmaker sat out the loss to Spurs with a thigh strain.

Benjamin Mendy should be fit to return. The Frenchman is not able to play more than once a week due to his knee, and after missing the Tottenham clash, he should be ready to return at the weekend.

Oleksandr Zinchenko (hamstring) and Claudio Bravo (Achilles) are both still out of contention heading into the Palace game.

Manchester City’s Predicted XI To Face Crystal Palace:

Ederson, Walker, Kompany, Laporte, Mendy, De Bruyne, Fernandinho, David Silva, Sterling, Aguero, Sane

The Eagles could be without their two first-choice centre-backs for the match. Mamadou Sakho is currently in rehab after knee surgery, while James Tomkins suffered a groin strain in the second half of the 1-0 win against Newcastle last week.

The extent of the defender’s injury is not yet known but he is a major doubt for Sunday. One player who could return, though, is Max Meyer with the German expected to recover from an illness.

Crystal Palace’s Predicted XI:

Guaita, Wan-Bissaka, Kelly, Dann, van Aanholt, Townsend, McArthur, Milivojevic, Schlupp, Zaha, Batshuayi

The bookies have City as firm favourites to get the three points. They are 1/3 at Sky Bet with a draw currently 23/5 at Unibet. A Palace win is 23/2 with BetVictor.

Predicted Score – 2-1 to City.
