Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has been hailed as one of the best in Europe, according to his national manager Roberto Martinez.
We all know what De Bruyne is capable of, having watched him take the Premier League by storm in his debut season for the Sky Blues. But nothing has changed at all this campaign, with the 26-year-old being involved in 6 City goals already – only 7 games into the 17/18 season.
City sit top of the Premier League on goal difference, and De Bruyne’s displays have caught the eye especially, with him being nominated for the player of the month award, as well as for the goal of the month award.
Belgium manager Roberto Martinez says that the midfielder might well be showing why he is one of the best in the world, insisting that it is very difficult to find fault with his performances.
“Kevin de Bruyne is just such a thinker,” the Belgium manager told The Sun.
“You get footballers that have got really good execution of what they do, and others that are very good thinkers — he has got both.”
“If you analyse his performances, you will find it very, very difficult to find a better midfielder in European football. He has a really good chemistry with Pep Guardiola. I think they have a very good understanding.”
“When you look at Man City’s fixtures, the first thing that comes into my mind is, ‘Kevin will be influential in that’ — and that’s an elite category.”
