De Bruyne’s Agent Responds To Talk Of Star’s Departure Following City’s European Ban

The agent of Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has quashed speculation linking the Belgian international with a move away from the Etihad Stadium.

There had been reports that the 28-year-old could make the switch to Real Madrid in the summer following City’s ban from European competitions, but Patrick De Koster has dismissed the rumours:

“I was with Kevin in Manchester a while ago And we also talked about all those rumours. Where are they coming from? At the moment, there is absolutely nothing going on.”

When asked if UEFA’s two-year suspension for City would have an impact on De Bruyne’s future, De Koster replied that the midfielder will only reconsider his situation once the appeal over the ban is resolved:

“I’ll ask you a question: what penalty is there? City is still appealing and so there is currently no official verdict. Only when there is one can we position ourselves.”

Reports suggest that City are hopeful of having a video court hearing with the Court of Arbitration for Sport in the coming months.

There was concern that the judgement may need to be pushed back until later in the year, but there is hope that a conference call could be held in May or June in order to start proceedings.
