‘Definitely Not True’ ‘How About A Number 9?’ Fans Raise Doubts About City’s Interest In Bundesliga Playmaker

Manchester City and Manchester United are both interested in RB Leipzig attacking midfielder Dani Olmo, according to Bild journalist Christian Falk.

Barcelona have previously been heavily linked with the Spaniard, who came through the Catalan club’s youth academy, but Falk claims that Barca don’t have the funds to finance the deal, leaving the two Premier League clubs in pole position:

Olmo has been impressive for Leipzig over the last two seasons, and he is very much a Pep Guardiola-style player, but fans on Twitter believe the club should focus their priorities elsewhere:

With Cole Palmer now coming through the ranks, and the likes of Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne all able to play in similar positions, a move for Olmo does seem to be rather needless.

As a number of supporters have pointed out, the main focus has to be on signing a new number nine, but we shall see what City decide to do when the transfer window reopens.
