“Definitely On…” Rudiger Makes Bold Prediction About Second Leg After City Hold Real In Madrid

Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger says he is “confident” that his team can secure the win they need in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final after drawing 1-1 against Manchester City at the Bernabeu.

Kevin De Bruyne’s outstanding equaliser cancelled out a first-half goal from Vinicius Jnr but, when asked whether he was happy with the result, Rudiger replied:

“They got the goal quite late so we feel like we could have had more but it’s not a problem, the tie is definitely on and we can go to Manchester with confidence. At the end of the day they were not dangerous. They had a lot of possession, we knew this would happen, but they were not dangerous. The goal is quality from De Bruyne.”

The tie is finely poised heading into the game at the Etihad. Erling Haaland was noticeably quiet on Tuesday evening and credit has to go to Rudiger for that. The former Chelsea defender marked him tightly and ensured he didn’t get a sniff of goal.

However, it’s unlikely that he’ll be able to stop Haaland for another 90 minutes, especially when you consider the Norwegian’s scoring record at home this season. In the Champions League alone, he has bagged nine goals and you’ve got to believe he will have an impact next week.
