Manchester City are keen on keeping Riyad Mahrez, Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling beyond the end of their current deals, according to reports in England.
The trio all have contracts that expire in 2023, and manager Pep Guardiola is said to have made it clear to the Manchester club’s hierarchy that he doesn’t want any of them to leave.
City supporters on Twitter are very much split on whether the Premier League champions should be looking to keep the three players at the Etihad beyond the end of next season:
Do it fast💙🔥

There are so many better players out there. Why do we have to settle for mediocrity?

Each of them are at different stages of their career. Mahrez is in excellent form but he has just turned 31 and the club will have to think long and hard about whether they are prepared to give him another long-term deal.
Sterling is in the prime of his career, but he has had a rocky relationship with Guardiola, prompting speculation that the likes of Arsenal could make a move for him.
Jesus, meanwhile, hasn’t yet hit his peak but he hasn’t scored in the Premier League since September, leading to questions over whether he merits a lucrative new contract. We shall see how negotiations with the trio turn out.
