‘Don’t Get Me Gassed’ ‘Oh Man’ City Fans React As Ornstein Provides Update On 120M Move For Harry Kane

Tottenham striker Harry Kane does favour a move to Manchester City, according to The Athletic. The report, which was co-written by the very reliable former BBC reporter David Ornstein, claims that the England captain was enquiring about a move to the Etihad Stadium during the March international break.

It left City’s players with the distinct impression that he wanted to join Pep Guardiola’s side, above other interested parties, including Manchester United, Chelsea, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

Ornstein claims the biggest stumbling block would still be Spurs’s £120m asking price, which may prompt City to go after Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku instead. On Twitter, fans are split between some who want Kane while others still have their hearts set on getting Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland:

City did enquire about Kane last summer, only for Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy to ask the 27-year-old to stay for another year. There is still a chance of that happening again, meaning City would have to move on to other targets. At £120m, though, he could now be cheaper than Haaland, which makes it a very tempting offer.
