Manchester City may battle Real Madrid for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the summer, according to reports in the Spanish media.
The Serbian international, who was linked with City and Manchester United earlier this year, is believed to be a player that the Citizens are interested in and they reportedly already have an agreement in principle with the player’s agent.
Supporters on Twitter are sceptical about the story and believe City have more pressing areas of the squad to strengthen:
Why? If so Eriksen is cheaper and better than him.

you know there’s this english prospect think he’s called Phil Foden, is a quality player when he gets played, why don’t we get him?

With David Silva leaving at the end of the season, a move for another midfielder is possible. City fans would prefer the club to promote from within with Phil Foden waiting in the wings but the club do generally look to sign ready-made talent.
Milinkovic-Savic is a player that has been widely touted to become a big star but he hasn’t necessarily always lived up to the hype. So far this campaign, the 24-year-old has scored two goals and provided four assists in nine appearances.
