Erling Haaland Gets Second Award Just Hours After Receiving FWA Honour

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has been awarded the Premier League Player of the Month prize for April.

The Norwegian international received the accolade just moments after it was confirmed that he had beaten Arsenal duo Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard to the Football Writers’ Association Football of the Year award.

Haaland was in outstanding form in April, racking up six goals and two assists in only four appearances. You also have to remember that he missed the first game of the month against Liverpool due to a groin injury.

The forward has only failed to score in eight of the 32 league matches he has played in for City, recording four hat-tricks and five braces in the process.

Haaland beat his teammate Kevin De Bruyne, Newcastle duo Alexander Isak & Callum Wilson, Liverpool forward Diogo Jota, Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke, Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins to win the vote for April.
