Four Time Premier League Winner Hints That He Could Leave Manchester City

Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte has made a cryptic post on his Instagram story which could hint that his future lies away from the Etihad.

The Spanish international was an unused substitute against Bayern Munich on Tuesday night and in the aftermath of the 3-0 win, the defender made some remarks about a potential fresh start:

“After the rain, a rainbow; after a storm, the calm; and after an end, a new beginning.”

Laporte has been part of four Premier League winning teams since moving to Manchester during the 2018 January transfer window.

However, the 28-year-old has made just 14 starts in all competitions this campaign, with the likes of Nathan Ake and Manuel Akanji moving ahead of him in the pecking order.

It was reported last month that Chelsea had added Laporte to their list of summer transfer targets but a return to Spain is a more likely possibility for the centre-back.

Barcelona have also been mentioned as a potential suitor but the Catalan club would need to free up some funds to finance a move. We shall see how things unfold in the coming weeks.
