French Media Add Manchester City To List Of Clubs Who Are Pursuing Kylian Mbappe

Manchester City, Liverpool and Real Madrid are the three likeliest destinations if Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe decides to leave the Ligue One champions this summer, according to L’Equipe.

The French publication believes that the striker is keen to leave PSG for a new challenge abroad, but the player’s wage demands may make any transfer unlikely.

Mbappe could earn as much as €30m a year (£500,000 a week) if he stays in France; a figure he won’t be able to earn anywhere else. The 22-year-old is, though, hesitating on putting pen to paper on a new contract. His current deal expires in 2022 so a decision over a sale will need to be made by PSG very soon.

City are looking for a new striker. It was believed that Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland was their main target, but competition from the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United could complicate their plans.

With that being the case, a move for Mbappe cannot be ruled out, although the France international’s transfer fee and salary would make any deal very difficult to pull off.
