Graeme Souness Makes Title Prediction U Turn After Reflecting On This Weekend’s Results

Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness has now made Manchester City favourites to win the Premier League title, following yesterday’s 4-0 win over Crystal Palace.

The victory moved them above Liverpool in the table, with a game in hand and, while he is not completing convinced by Pep Guardiola’s side without Sergio Aguero, he does think they will be there or thereabouts:

“City are, for me, the biggest danger to Liverpool. I know there are a couple of ‘ifs’ in there and if you’re going to push me… I’ll go for City at this time, tonight [after Liverpool’s draw against United].”

Back in September, Souness had made Liverpool the strong favourites for the league, ahead of City, Manchester United and Chelsea, naming them as the “team to catch” following the arrivals of Thiago Alcantara and Diogo Jota.

However, a lot has happened in terms of results and injuries, and it seems City are now hitting their stride following an indifferent start to the campaign which saw them drop a number of points.

Guardiola’s men face Liverpool at the start of next month but they could build a decent lead over their rivals by then by getting wins against the likes of Aston Villa, West Brom, Sheffield United and Burnley.
