Grealish Stirs Transfer Speculation After Making Admission About City Star

Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish has admitted that he is trying to model his game on Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne.

The pair will face each other in the Carabao Cup final tomorrow, and speaking ahead of the showpiece occasion, Grealish says he rates the Belgian as the best player in the division:

“I’m half star-struck when I play against Kevin De Bruyne, he’s my favourite player ever. I think he’s unbelievable, I think he’s easily the best player in the Premier League at the moment.”

“He’s someone I personally look up to at the moment and try and base my game on them. Try and take things from their game and put it into mine. Obviously, going up against them it’s going to be tough, it’s a one-off game and fingers crossed on the day it goes our way.”

City manager Pep Guardiola has expressed his admiration for Grealish in the past, and there has been talk of a move to the Etihad Stadium. The 24-year-old’s latest comments will only intensify the rumours.

However, if the Citizens are interested in the Englishman, they will likely face competition from rivals Manchester United with reports in the local press suggesting that the Red Devils may have already made an enquiry about the player.

Whether Grealish does end up at either Manchester club over the summer, we shall have to wait and see, but for the time being, City will be focused on nullifying his threat when they face Villa at Wembley.
