Guardiola Has Made A ‘Clear Request’ For City To Sign 36M Rated Brighton Midfield General ‘Next Summer’

Alexis Mac Allister

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has made a “clear request” to the board that he wants Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister “next summer”, according to Fichajes.net.

The Spanish rumour mongers claim that Guardiola has identified the Argentinian international as a replacement for either Ilkay Gundogan or Bernardo Silva, who could leave the Etihad at the end of the season.

Mac Allister was heavily linked with both Chelsea and Arsenal during the January transfer window but the 24-year-old has recently spoken out to say that he is relaxed about his future:

“I’m fine, I always say I’m focused here in Brighton, this is the club who helped me become a better player, better human being. I’m not rushed to leave, I try not to read or hear too much but as I say, I’m very focused here.”

It was reported that Mac Allister could cost as much as €65m (£58m) but Fichajes claim that Brighton may be prepared to sell for only €40m (£36m), with the player having just two years left on his contract.

Considering the Seagulls are usually very tough negotiators, it seems unlikely that Mac Allister would be available that cheaply but we shall see how this transfer story develops in the coming months.
