Pep Guardiola has made Chelsea star Eden Hazard his number one transfer target this summer, according to reports.
Spanish outlet Sport report that the Belgium international is top of Manchester City’s transfer wishlist – a list that is understood to be upwards in value of £200 million.
Despite dominating in the Premier League, City collapsed out of both the FA Cup at the hands of Wigan Athletic and most recently the Champions League – where they were dumped out at the quarter-finals stage by Liverpool.
Guardiola wants to spend big again this summer to mount a big push for Europe’s elite crown next season, and the Spaniard believes Hazard is the calibre of player who can help his side achieve that.
Hazard has been Chelsea’s stand-out player over the last few seasons, and starred last year as Antonio Conte’s side marched to the Premier League title in record fashion, winning 30 of their 38 top flight games.
As such, City will face a huge pushback in their attempts to sign Hazard from the Blues, who are keen to keep hold of a player they consider key to their future success.
Chelsea are believed to value Hazard upwards of £100 million.
Given that large fee, should City miss out on the Belgian superstar, they are understood to be ready to move for either AS Monaco’s Thomas Lemar or Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez.
