Gvardiol’s NINE FIGURE Release Clause is Revealed As City And Other Teams Line Up Bids

Josko Gvardiol’s release clause is €112m (£97.7m), according to German tabloid Bild. The Croatian international signed a new contract back in September, and there were rumours that a buyout fee was included, but there have been conflicting stories about what figure was settled upon.

Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and a number of other teams are interested in Gvardiol, and this development won’t exactly help their attempts to secure the player’s signature.

The clause can only be triggered in the summer of 2024 so Leipzig are in a very strong position when it comes to negotiating a sale price before that date.

Reports in the French media claim that City have already tabled an offer in the region of €110m (£96m) but that is still a couple of million euros below the release fee agreed in Gvardiol’s contract.

From the looks of things, any team wanting to snap up the 20-year-old will have to stump up an eye-watering amount.
