Harry Redknapp Makes His Title Prediction Ahead Of The New Premier League Season

Former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is not expecting Manchester City to beat Liverpool to the Premier League title this season.

The Citizens ended last term 18 points behind the league champions and, speaking about his favourite to finish top this campaign, Redknapp thinks Pep Guardiola’s side won’t be able to stop the Reds from retaining their crown:

“Chelsea have performed well, Man United are getting stronger, Man City are going to try and win it back this year but I’m still going to go with Liverpool. I think Liverpool look like the winning team to me.”

Obviously, Redknapp didn’t provide a lot of explanation for his verdict, and it will be interesting to see whether he changes his opinion if City start the season in excellent form.

A lot will depend on whether the Citizens are able to bring in another centre-back before the transfer window shuts. Nathan Ake has been signed from Bournemouth but the Dutchman will likely be Aymeric Laporte’s understudy as both players are left-footed.

The Manchester club are believed to be still locked in negotiations with Napoli over signing Kalidou Koulibaly, and if they do get that deal over the line, it could be a game-changer in terms of the title race.
