Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez took to Instagram after scoring a brace in the 4-1 win over Fulham on Saturday.
The Algerian international heralded the “great performance” as the Citizens booked themselves a place in the FA Cup fifth round, but one of the 100,000s of likes he received came from Erling Haaland.
With speculation that the Norwegian is a key summer target for City, the interaction caused quite a stir among fans on Twitter:

It should be pointed out that Mahrez was pictured with Haaland when the pair bumped into each other on holiday in June so there really shouldn’t be any surprise that the pair are liking each others’ posts on social media.
Haaland’s future remains firmly up in the air. The 21-year-old has been linked with City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona, but there has been some reports in recent days that the favourites for his signature, Real Madrid, have decided to pull out of the race. That would be good news for City if that turns out to be true.
