Bayern Munich fullback David Alaba will reject a move to Manchester City as he has his heart set on a move to Barcelona or Real Madrid, according to reports in Germany.
There had been claims in Spain last week that Barca could well be priced out as they can’t afford to match the Austrian international’s wage demands, but it appears the 27-year-old will hold out for a switch to La Liga.
Supporters on Twitter think Alaba will come to regret his choice in the future:
Move on. He obviously has no interest in joining us. He will regret his decision. We don't need players like him.

City weren’t in for him so couldn’t be snubbed. Not the right age.

It is not a surprise that City are interested in Alaba considering Pep Guardiola is a big fan of players who can play multiple positions. The Bayern star is equally comfortable playing at left-back, centre-back or in midfield.
His apparent decision to reject a move to the Premier League will be a disappointment, although the Citizens are well stocked for players in most of the positions he plays.
