‘Here To Stay’ ‘Good Because We Can’t Lose Him’ Fans Respond As Romano Provides Update On Key City Star’s Future

Manchester City will not sell Kevin De Bruyne when the transfer window reopens, according to Fabrizio Romano. He wrote in a Q&A for Calciomercato.com that the Belgian is “non-transferable”.

The Italian journalist is usually a reliable source for such information, and supporters on Twitter are happy that De Bruyne should be staying at the Etihad Stadium:

De Bruyne raised questions about his future when he suggested in an interview with a Belgian newspaper earlier this week that he will only make a decision about a transfer once the appeal against City’s two-year European ban is decided upon:

“We’ll wait and see what happens. Once there’s a final decision I will look at it. Two years [without Champions League football] would be long. One year is something I might be able to cope with.”

The 28-year-old is a key player for manager Pep Guardiola and it is not a surprise that the Citizens will not be considering bids under any circumstances.

De Bruyne may have his own ideas, though, but at this point in time, there are too many unknowns for the midfielder to make any concrete future plans.
