“He’s One You Don’t Want To Miss” Ferdinand Makes Big Claim About Bundesliga Wonderkid Who’s Been Linked To City

BT Sport pundit Rio Ferdinand claims that no club will want to miss out on signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham if he becomes available.

The 18-year-old has been in outstanding form in the Bundesliga, having scored three goals and provided seven assists already this season, and Ferdinand thinks his versatility makes him an extremely unique player:

“In the England youth teams there are times when he’s played as the holding midfielder. Times he’s played as the 8 and been box-to-box. And also times when he’s been told he can join the attacks more. He has the capabilities and capacity to play all of the roles, he’s that good.”

“I think for him, I see him as being someone who can do it all. There aren’t many midfielders in the game now that can attack and defend – affect the game at both ends. When you are one of the super clubs, there are talents out there that make you think if we have the capacity and financial muscle, then he’s one you don’t want to miss.”

Manchester City are believed to be one of the teams keeping tabs on Bellingham, along with the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United.

However, Dortmund are reportedly very reluctant to let him leave next summer, especially if they also offload Erling Haaland. The teenager’s asking price is thought to be around the €100m (£84m) to €120m (£101m) mark, which is extraordinary for such a young talent.

As Ferdinand points out, though, Bellingham is one of a kind and City will likely be in the mix if and when Dortmund are prepared to sell the England international in the future.
