Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan knows what it is like to be managed by Jurgen Klopp so when asked about Liverpool’s chances against Barcelona, he didn’t rule out a comeback despite the Reds being 3-0 down.

The German said he had a funny feeling that the tie was not over, and predicted the exact scoreline:

“I’ve already thought about it and somehow I have the feeling that it’s not over yet. I can even imagine Liverpool winning the game 4-0 at home.”

“I don’t know why, but I think that at Anfield, and Klopp as a motivational machine and with the types of players that are very unpleasant to play against, even a team like Barca can be completely shut down in one game.”

With Liverpool winning 4-0 on the night and securing a place in the Champions League final, Gundogan was bang on the money.

With City coming up against Brighton at the weekend, perhaps supporters should be asking him for another prediction.

A win will secure the Premier League title for Pep Guardiola‘s side; a truly incredible feat considering they would have had to win 14 games in a row to clinch the trophy.

Taking into account how City have had to play after Liverpool in most of those matches too, the ability and willpower to play under such pressure has been extraordinary to watch.
