“I Don’t Think That Will Happen…” Simon Jordan Makes Prediction About City After Financial Wrongdoing Allegations

TalkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan says he doesn’t expect Manchester City to be “booted out of the Premier League”.

There have been one or two reports suggesting that other top-flight teams would want the Citizens kicked out if allegations of financial wrongdoing are proven but Jordan thinks a points deduction is much likelier:

“Well, I don’t think that will happen. My view is that I don’t think they will get booted out of the Premier League… But they will be if they find them guilty, which I have my views on, they will certainly give them points deductions. But I don’t think they will boot them out of the league.”

There is no timescale as to when the independent commission will be set up and there has also been no estimate given as to how long it will take for the panel to come to a verdict on the 100+ charges.

An appeals process could also extend the time before any punishments such as fines, points deductions or potential league expulsions are decided upon.

It means there will be a lengthy period of uncertainty for City as the allegations are dealt with by lawyers and judges, which will certainly not be helpful for the likes of manager Pep Guardiola and his squad.
