“I Think They’re That Good…” Gary Neville Makes Bold Title Prediction After City’s Mauling Of United

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville is expecting Manchester City to canter to another Premier League title.

Pep Guardiola’s side actually trail Arsenal at the top of the table by one point but, after seeing them thrash Manchester United at the weekend, Neville believes the reigning champions could finish well ahead of their rivals:

“I think they can win this league by 15-20 points. It feels like a ridiculous statement to make when they’re not even top of the league at this moment in time – but I think they’re that good. When the league settles down, when they start to really get into it. The signs are there, they’re scoring that many goals, they’ve got three of their best players missing today.”

“I just feel like they can win this league quite easily. I hope it’s not the case, obviously, because I want us to have competition and it to be really a fascinating season and for them to be pushed all the way, if not to be beaten. But I just feel like what I’ve watched there is something exceptional.”

If City keep up their current form then there is a possibility that they could run away with things at the top. Liverpool and Chelsea both seem to be going through transition seasons while Tottenham don’t look like a team that are ready to compete for titles.

The main unknown at the moment is Arsenal. The Gunners have had an excellent start to the campaign, and they are deservedly top after eight games, but they need to show more than they have so far to be classed as genuine title contenders.

The only time they have faced another ‘Big Six’ team away from home, they lost to United. Mikel Arteta’s men do, however, play Liverpool at home this weekend which may give ius a better indication as to whether they are in it for the long haul.
