Ian Wright Makes Bold Claim About City Star Amid Arsenal And Spurs Transfer Rumours

Ian Wright believes Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling has been one of the standout players at this summer’s European Championships.

The 26-year-old struggled for form last season at club level, leading to reports that he could be offloaded this summer, with the likes of Arsenal and Spurs having been linked with the player.

However, Sterling has put in some outstanding performances for England at the Euros, including an assist for Harry Kane’s opener last night against Ukraine, which led Wright to say:

“Raheem Sterling is one of the players of the tournament. He finds Harry Kane with a brilliant pass (for the opening goal). He comes inside. We need players who can run with the ball, progress the ball, into Harry Kane who can take our half-chances.”

There have been conflicting reports regarding Sterling’s future at the Etihad Stadium. Some have claimed that he wants to leave due to a lack of game time, while others have suggested he has been offered in a part-exchange deal for Kane.

The most recent stories have suggested that City are looking to re-open talks over extending his contract so we shall see what transpires over the coming days and weeks.
