Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has spoken to Barcelona forward Antoine Griezmann ahead of the French World Cup winner’s possible move to the Etihad Stadium, according to reports in France.
The 30-year-old could be offloaded by Barca this summer. He is one of the Catalan club’s highest earners and they are trying to slash the wage bill in order to stay below La Liga’s salary cap.
Supporters on Twitter are very much split on whether Griezmann would be a good signing. Some think he would be a decent addition if they can get him cheaply while others feel he is past his best:

I’d rather get him on loan for this season if we can’t sign our main target

The only way I can even remotely see this as a good buy is that pep might be able to make him okay again as a false 9, but I highly doubt It

Speculation about Griezmann has been building over the past few days. Earlier this week, it was reported that the France international’s agent was due to be in London to discuss a transfer to a Premier League club, with both City and Chelsea thought to be his likeliest destinations.
There is no doubt he would be a lot cheaper than either Harry Kane or Erling Haaland, but he is hardly a long-term replacement for Sergio Aguero.
