“If You Are Asking Me…” Carragher Delivers His Verdict On Who Is Better Out Of Foden And Bukayo Saka

Sky Sports pundit Jame Carragher says he believes that Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden is a better player than Bukayo Saka, but he does feel the Arsenal winger is superior in one key regard.

In terms of performances at international level, Carragher claims Saka has managed to outshine Foden, and that is something the City playmaker can improve upon:

“Now, if you are asking me who is the better player, Phil Foden or Saka, Phil Foden. I was watching him for Man City, he was amazing yesterday [against Manchester United], but I feel like Saka has actually done more in an England shirt.”

If we look at the statistics of the two players when they have played for England, it could be argued that there isn’t much between the pair. In his 18 caps, Foden has scored two goals, whilst also providing a pretty respectable six assists.

Saka has hit the back net four times in his 20 international appearances, as well as contributing five assists. Carragher is, therefore, probably being a bit unfair on Foden.

When you look at their displays for their respective clubs, though, there can be no doubting that Foden has been the better performer.
