‘Is It Just Me Who Gets The Feeling He Doesn’t Want To Be Here?’ ‘Please Sell Him’ Fans React As City Ace Speaks About His Future

‘Is It Just Me Who Gets The Feeling He Doesn’t Want To Be Here?’ ‘Please Sell Him’ Fans React As City Ace Speaks About His Future

Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling has refused to discuss his future ahead of tonight’s game against Real Madrid in the Champions League.

The England international’s contract at the Etihad expires at the end of the next season but, when asked if he will be signing an extension, Sterling said he would not speak about his current situation:

“At the minute, I’m happy to be playing, to contribute. That’s the most important thing. It would be selfish to speak of any contract situation.”

Fans on Twitter believe the non-committal remarks from Sterling may suggest that he will be leaving in the summer, with quite a few backing calls for the player to be sold:

It is believed that Sterling will only sign a new deal if he is playing regularly. He has started 29 games so far this campaign, but he has been an unused substitute in three of the last six league matches.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for the 27-year-old in recent months, and the player’s long-term future at City remains far from certain.
