“It Shows That You Are Doing Well” 36M Rated City Target Speaks Out Amid Transfer Speculation

Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria says he is fully focused on his current club despite speculation linking him with a move away in the summer.

Bayern Munich are said to be tracking the 24-year-old, while Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea have also been mentioned as possible destinations. When asked about the possibility of moving to Bayern, Zakaria replied:

“As a player, if you read that Bayern are interested in you, it shows that you are doing well at your club. But I’m really not thinking about my future now. I’m only focused on Gladbach and still have a lot of games to play with Borussia. And I will give 100 percent in these games.”

Some reports have suggested that City are preparing a €40m (£36m) bid for Zakaria at the end of the season but, at this stage, no club is thought to have made a formal approach for the player.

A lot will depend on the Swiss international’s ability to recover the form he showed before a serious knee problem. He has only made four appearances, and just one start, since making his comeback and there will be a lot of teams keeping close tabs on the midfielder, who will have just two years remaining on his contract in June.
