‘It Was A Complete And Utter Lesson’ Arsenal Icon Reacts To Manchester City 4-1 Victory Over Gunners

Arsenal legend Perry Groves expressed his disappointment over the Gunners’ performance during their 4-1 Premier League defeat against Manchester City in an interview featured on TalkSPORT.

In the interview, Groves said: “I think the title race is done and dusted. It sends a message to Real Madrid as well. City are the best team in Europe right now. It could’ve been seven or eight. It was a complete and utter lesson.”

Former England international Stuart Pearce, who was also present during the interview, added: “Arsenal will be shell-shocked They’ve been outplayed and out-thought. Man City have been better at everything.”

Manchester City were comfortably the better side in the game against the Gunners. They displayed their superiority early on, as Kevin De Bruyne blasted a low driving shot beyond Aaron Ramsdale.

John Stones made it 2-0 before the break, as De Bruyne added a third to the Citizens’ tally in the 54th minute. Arsenal were constantly chasing shadows – they scored a consolation goal through Rob Holding, but even this was cancelled out as Erling Haaland struck again in added time. It was a comprehensive win from Manchester City – moreover, it could hand them the Premier League title.

Groves played for Arsenal between the years of 1986 and 1992, where he made 156 appearances and scored 21 goals. Additionally, he also played for Colchester United, Dagenham & Redbridge and Southampton during his active career.
