‘It’s Obvious, Sterling Is Leaving’ ‘Fake News’ Fans Discuss Reports That City Have Contacted Barca Ace’s Agent

Manchester City have contacted agent Jorge Mendes about the availability of Barcelona forward Ansu Fati, according to reports in the Catalan media.

The 18-year-old, who has been heavily linked with rivals Manchester United in the past, is thought to be closing in on signing a new contract at Barca so, while some fans on Twitter believe the club could well be interested in the player, many others feel there is no substance to the stories:

Fati undoubtedly has huge potential so it wouldn’t have been surprising if City did make an enquiry about the teenager. Beyond that, though, it seems pretty clear that the Spanish international won’t be leaving the Camp Nou anytime soon.

Manager Pep Guardiola isn’t exactly short of inside forwards anyway, with the likes of Riyad Mahrez, Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus, Jack Grealish and Ferran Torres all capable of playing in the same position as Fati.
