Jamie Redknapp Names His Two Favourites For The Premier League Title

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp believes Manchester City and Liverpool are now in pole position to win the Premier League.

The Citizens have displaced Chelsea at the top of the table, following their 3-1 win over Watford yesterday, and Redknapp says it is hard to look past Pep Guardiola’s team on current form:

“Man City are a joy to watch right now. I would say that they and Liverpool are just ahead of Chelsea right now as favourites in this race.”

Pundits have been flip-flopping between the three main contenders over the past couple of months, with the most recent results generally leading them to favour one over another.

City are in a very strong position at the moment. They have already played their two main rivals away from home, collecting four points in the process, and they are currently leading the way.

Things can, of course, change and we are still not at the halfway point of the season, but the festive period could well prove to be important in determining where the trophy ends up. The reigning champions have eight matches in all competitions during December, and if they can negotiate the tough run of fixtures well, it will go a long way towards them retaining the title.
