Former Tottenham and Newcastle midfielder Jermaine Jenas believes Manchester City could lose both of their league matches against Liverpool this season.
The TV pundit suggests that Jurgen Klopp’s side are the only team in the league that the Citizens are afraid of, and thinks they could drop points when they face their title rivals:
“I’ve got a feeling Liverpool will beat them twice this year. I’ve just got a feeling, they [Man City] fear them.”
It’s a bold claim from Jenas but not one that looks that likely to happen considering last season’s results between the two teams.
City kept Liverpool at arm’s length in their first encounter at Anfield and only failed to get the three points because of Riyad Mahrez’s missed penalty.
At the Etihad, Pep Guardiola’s men came out winners on the day following goals from Sergio Aguero and Leroy Sane. Although, it’s likely the games between the pair will be tight affairs once again this campaign, you will get long odds on the Reds claiming victories in both fixtures.
