John Stones Praises ‘Incredible” Player That City Have Just Let Go To Arsenal

Manchester City centre-back John Stones has paid tribute to Oleksandr Zinchenko following confirmation of the Ukrainian’s move to Arsenal.

Stones took to Instagram yesterday to praise Zinchenko and to wish him good luck at his new club:

City did manage to secure a decent fee of around £32m for Zinchenko, which will undoubtedly go towards signing his replacement. Pep Guardiola’s side have already identified Brighton’s Marc Cucurella as their top target but it looks as though negotiations could take a while.

The Seagulls rejected the Manchester club’s opening offer of £30m, but a second bid is expected to be tabled pretty soon. Whether it will come close to the player’s £50m asking price, though, it is doubtful.

Brighton boss Graham Potter has spoken out to say that Cucurella is happy at the Amex but reliable journalists have contradicted that claim. Whether the 23-year-old will try to force through a move, we shall have to wait and see.
