Manchester City have joined the battle to sign Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria, according to Sport Bild’s Christian Falk. The German journalist claims the Citizens are lining up a €40m (£36m) bid for the Swiss international at the end of the season:

Falk has also said in recent days that Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Manchester United are keeping tabs on the 23-year-old after impressing scouts with his performances for Gladbach over the past few years.
Zakaria has been at the Bundesliga club since the summer of 2017 after arriving from Young Boys for €10m and it does look like he will be leaving his current team when this campaign comes to an end if a club can match his asking price.
City are likely to be looking for a replacement for captain Fernandinho, with the Brazilian’s contract set to expire in June next year. With the player turning 36 in May, it could be the right time to replace the midfield stalwart.
