Journalist Claims City Have Been ‘Offered’ PSG Star Following Reports Of Chelsea Interest

Paris Saint-Germain left-back Layvin Kurzawa has been “offered” to Manchester City as an “understudy”, according to RTL Sports journalist Baptiste Durieux.

It was reported in the English media last week that the 29-year-old was a potential target for Chelsea, but Durieux claims that the Citizens have also been given the chance to snap up the defender:

Whether City would be interested in signing Kurzawa, it is doubtful. Joao Cancelo may prefer playing on the right-hand side but he has thrived playing as a left-back.

Manager Pep Guardiola can also call upon the services of Oleksandr Zinchenko when required to fill in so there isn’t any real need to bring in another backup during the January transfer window.

In the long term, reinforcing the left-hand side of defence will be something that City’s recruitment team may look at but Kurzawa is very unlikely to be considered as an option by the club.
